10.3 KYC/AML and Investor Onboarding
To remain compliant with global anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) laws, Asset Avenue mandates full KYC (Know Your Customer) verification for all users engaging in token purchases or sales.
KYC services are powered by Scale Compliance, a Switzerland-based digital identity verification and compliance provider. Scale Compliance ensures:
Full compliance with Swiss and EU AML legislation
Real-time document verification (passports, national IDs, etc.)
Proof of address and residency checks
Sanction list and politically exposed person (PEP) screening
Secure, GDPR-compliant data storage
KYC is required before users can:
Purchase AAV tokens from the platform
Stake tokens and gain membership privileges
Access property offerings
Trade on the Resale Hub
Submit property proposals
Only staked and verified users gain full platform privileges. If a user unstakes their AAV tokens, they retain access to their wallet and assets but lose governance and investment rights until restaking and re-verification. This model reduces active circulating supply, supports token value, and ensures the club remains compliant and secure.
